CARA Brickwork Digital Transformation

CARA Brickwork

Digital transformation of site operations and Field View integration

Our Client
CARA Brickwork are one of the leading brickwork contractors in the North. Working with a range of high profile developers, Tier 1 contractors and multi-national blue chip organisations, the team have made significant investment in terms of streamlining their onsite operations, particularly around Health & Safety reporting. As a leader in the brickwork industry they were poised to take the next step on their digital transformation journey.

The Challenge
CARA Brickwork were looking to strengthen their on-site quality assurance and reduce paper form processes. They needed to provide regular real time updates to their clients, which proved impossible without a digital solution. CARA Brickwork were ready for digital transformation, however lacked the internal capability and capacity to deliver the project.

RED Jam have helped us review our on-site processes, removing complexity and simplifying the recording of information across all of our projects. Everything is now online and issued to relevant parties as soon as the form is completed. They have upskilled our team to be able to use and administer the system setting us up for the future.

Digital Transformation of CARA Brickwork Site Operations

Our approach – delivering the digital transformation of CARA Brickwork

We completed an initial review of the current paper processes, working closely with the stakeholders to understand the key businesses priorities and uncover their current challenges.
Through a series of site visits we were able to engage with the project teams to fully understand how their current processes were performed, whilst capturing any ‘pain points’ and opportunities for improvement.
By involving the end users early, we were able to build ‘buy-in’ for the project and this engagement helped to support the changes later in the project.

Utilising process mapping sessions with the key stakeholders we were able to deep dive into the current processes, highlighting waste, duplication and opportunities for process simplification.

Additionally, we identified new requirements for their quality processes (such as specification recording and photo capture).

Using the outputs from the process review, we redesigned and simplified the key processes before automating them in Field View.
Once developed, we agreed the processes with key stakeholders and performed end user testing of the forms, making any initial improvements based on client feedback.

We successfully piloted the new forms and processes on a live CARA Brickwork project. All project users received full, interactive Field View training.

Piloting allowed us to capture real end user feedback and make further process improvements. This ensured the new forms and processes were fit for purpose before full roll out.

To ensure a smooth roll out, we set up all of CARA Brickworks live projects in Field View. Following this we provided interactive Field View training to the business users. Training was tailored to the business by demonstrating how the team would fill in their own forms on site.

Ongoing support was provided to the business users post implementation. This ensured Field View usage is firmly embedded in the organisation.
