Digital transformation of site operations and Field View integration
Our Client
Lyons & Annoot are a leading specialist masonry trade contractor operating predominantly in London and the Southeast. With over four decades of experience working with the country’s top-tier main contractors, they have a reputation built on delivery and integrity, with a track record showcased by previous projects and endorsed by a repeat client base.
The Challenge
Lyons & Annoot were looking to build upon and improve their Quality Management System, site operation and Health and Safety processes via digital transformation and integration of Field View, a cloud-based and offline mobile solution that replaces pen and paper in the field, and enhance the visibility of site operations performance, making it easier for the management team to capture the required quality evidence during the construction process.
We would not have been in this position as quickly or effectively and with the same level of user confidence without the professionalism and experience of the entire Red Jam team who delivered their works to cost and programme while keeping stakeholders informed throughout the whole process. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable and valuable experience and I would not hesitate to highly recommend Red Jam to anyone considering on embarking on a similar journey.

Our approach – delivering the digital transformation of Lyons & Annoot
1. Engagement
We showcased the functionality available in Field View with the key stakeholders to allow them to understand what was possible within the system. We then completed a review of the current paper processes used within the Quality Management System, site
operation and Health & Safety and the business’s current challenges/priorities.
We included the end users of the current processes to get their input, ensuring that all challenges were understood while building buy-in and gaining support on process changes that would be implemented later in the project.
2. Process review
Through a series of online working sessions, we worked with the subject matter experts on quality, site operations and Health & Safety to capture the requirements for the new digital processes by building upon the existing paper form processes and identifying new requirements such as passive fire protection product specification and mandatory photo capture.
3. Improve & digitise
Using the outputs from the working sessions, we created bespoke forms within Field View, simplifying the process for the end user and ensuring that all information capture requirements were met across quality, site operations and Health & Safety.
During the form design process, we took an iterative approach seeking feedback on the form designs from the key stakeholders and making improvements/changes where necessary to arrive at a form version ready to be tested in a pilot.
We completed the set-up of Lyons & Annoot projects, inviting users and adding relevant drawings and locations to Field View.
4. Pilot
We upskilled the pilot project teams to use Field View through an in-person interactive training session. And piloted the new forms on three live Lyons & Annoot projects. This enabled us to get feedback from a broad range of users across different build types.
We captured their feedback and made further improvements to the forms before commencing full roll out.
5. Roll out
We upskilled the remaining team members through interactive in-person training sessions and provided ongoing query support during the rollout.
In-house Field View administrators were upskilled through online super user training. This enabled Lyons & Annoot to be self-sufficient in administering the system after the Red Jam support had finished.
Benefits and Outcomes
By automating Lyons & Annoot’s on-site processes, we have delivered a series of key outcomes. These outcomes have led to increased efficiency and easy access to digital records of site operations.
