What is Smart Construction 2026?
Smart Construction (Innovation) Conference & Exhibition 2026 is a full-day construction event focused on the technologies, processes and ideas shaping the future of the industry.
Hosted by Constructing Excellence in the North East, the event brings together contractors, developers, consultants, architects, engineers, suppliers and technology providers.
Attendees can hear from industry experts, explore innovative products and services, discover new technologies and connect with construction professionals from across the region.
The event is also part of CENE’s wider focus on improving performance and driving change across construction, housing and regeneration in the North East.
What will Matt be speaking about?
Matt’s session sits within the Process Theme, reflecting an important part of the wider smart construction conversation.
New technology can create significant opportunities for construction organisations. But technology is only part of the solution.
Organisations also need to understand how their processes work, where inefficiencies exist and how teams can use new tools effectively.
That means looking at:
- How work is currently carried out
- Where processes create unnecessary work
- How information moves between teams
- Where technology can improve efficiency
- How new ways of working can be embedded
- How continuous improvement can become part of everyday operations
For construction organisations considering digital transformation, process improvement can provide an important foundation for making technology work harder.
A day focused on the future of construction
Smart Construction 2026 will explore a wide range of topics affecting the construction and built environment sector.
The programme brings together Product, Digital and Process themes, covering areas including digital construction, innovation, modern methods of construction and new technologies.
